Unfortunately, hotel piracy is prevalent in today's society and CPC23 is not immune to these criminals. Hotel piracy refers to the practice of unauthorized solicitations from hotels or third-party housing agencies that are NOT affiliated with INCM.
In the past, INCM's has had the "hotel housing pirates" target CPC attendees and resource providers. They are soliciting and encouraging attendees and providers to book hotel rooms through them - they hold to unethical standards and exorbitant cancellation fees.
PROTECT YOURSELF! DO NOT BOOK A ROOM WITH ANYONE WHO CALLS YOU!
Be aware of phone calls received from anyone wanting you to book your hotel room for CPC23. Disney's Coronado Springs Resort is the only hotel contracted with INCM, and they will NEVER contact you to book your rooms. You will need to contact them to book within the Official Room Block.
Rooms offered by these pirates often are more expensive, contain hidden fees, cannot be canceled, or do not actually exist. If you book through one of these imposters, you will arrive at CPC23 and NOT HAVE A ROOM!
There is also the risk that someone contacting you may be a fraudulent company attempting to obtain your credit card information in order to commit identity theft. Do not give anyone who contacts you your personal information or credit card information over the phone.
Most often, once you realize that you have booked a room through a pirate company, you will never be able to contact them again. Any phone number they have provided either does not exist or will never be answered.
